Matthew 6:22 - 23 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light. But if your eye be evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you be darkness, how great [is] that darkness!

Jeremiah 29:13 And you shall seek me, and find [me], when you shall search for me with all your heart

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. ( Mammon means riches)

Confidence in God

Matthew 6:25 - 32 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take you thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O you of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.

Do This First

(Matthew 6:33 - 34 But you seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof.

The Great Commandment

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.

Mark 12:30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this [is] the first commandment.

Mark 12:33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love [his] neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

Requirement To Be Saved

Matthew 3:2-10   "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."  For this is the one referred to by Isaiah the prophet, saying, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness,  Now John himself had a garment of camel's hair, and a leather belt about his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.  Then Jerusalem was going out to him, and all Judea, and all the district around the Jordan; and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, as they confessed their sins. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, "You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? "Therefore bring forth fruit in keeping with repentance; and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, `We have Abraham for our father'; for I say to you, that God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham. "And the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.   

John the Baptist came to a people that were very religious but, only hypocritical, I believe that the people of this generation are in the same condition as the people of Israel were, back in the time of John the Baptist!  So this same message will apply today!

How to find the Lord

Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from here you shall seek the LORD your God, you shall find [him], if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.

2 Chronicles 15:12 And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;

Jeremiah 29:13 And you shall seek me, and find [me], when you shall search for me with all your heart

I’ve Tried!

If this is your response, "I have tried before to find peace with the Lord, but . . . ."

Please read Ezekiel 36:25 - 27, and take note of the fact that God is the one who does all of these things! Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them]. What a promise! God will cleanse us from all of our filthiness! That word filthiness means sin! What a promise, but that’s not all, God will remove all of the idols in our life!

There’s more, God will remove our heart of stone. The Bible uses the word heart to refer to man’s will, the place we make our decisions ( the decision to obey God or disobey God). Notice here that God refers to a stony heart, this means a stubborn, rebellious will (heart). We won’t stop being rebellious and stubborn on our own, so the God of love removes this rebellious (heart) from us and replaces it with a moldable (heart) (And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.)

All that I have written applies only to those who have already repented. Repentance is the first step toward God. Ask john the Baptist or Jesus!
