Easter Easter, comes from the
ancient pagan festival of Astarte.
Another name for it is Ishtar
(pronounced "Easter"). This festival was held late in the
month of April. It was a celebration of the earth "regenerating"
itself after the winter season. The festival involved a celebration of reproduction. The symbols used during this Pagan
celebration of Easter were the rabbit,
and the egg. Both are known for their
reproductive abilities. Now please use
all of the imagination that you can muster up, and tell me what possible
connection could the Easter egg, and the Easter bunny have with the
resurrection of Jesus Christ. Knowing
the connection with the original Pagan feast day Ishtar, it is easy to figure
out the significance of the rabbit and the egg!
Now for the big
question, why are we calling the day we celebrate the resurrection of Christ
"Easter"? Why not call it "The Resurrection Day!
I believe the answer to this is simple, it is because of the marriage
between Christianity and Paganism!
My purpose for writing this tract is to
call to the attention of all believers, some of the Pagan practices that have
crept into the Church. God punished the
children of Israel when they partook of Pagan practices, shall we go
unpunished? Shall we be blessed of our
God?
When
we turn away from these UN-Godly things we will be persecuted, but then doesn't
the Bible promise us that? 2 Timothy
3:12 Yea, and all that will live Godly
in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
At this
point you may be thinking - This must of been written by some Jehovah's witness
or something like that. Nothing could
be farther from the truth! I have no denominational affiliations,
The Bible, God's word and the Spirit of God, is what I follow, The Spirit of
God will not lead you away from the teachings of the Bible, ever. How can we read history, and shut our eyes,
why do we follow blindly what others do even when it does not follow the
teachings of the Word of God!
"Easter bunnies"
"Easter eggs" what, pray tell, are we not to question the
relation between these and the resurrection of Jesus Christ!
I am appalled at the "follow the leader"
mentality, at the "question nothing" attitude,
