Hudson Taylor   ***

With faith in God he went to China , where he began a the very peculiar practice of dressing like the Chinese did, instead of dressing in the western way.  This brought about a great deal of persecuting from his fellow missionaries, who dressed in the western style, and appeared very strange to the Chinese.  He also started wearing his hair in the Chinese way as well.

Sometime later he met another missionary, and found something that attracted him to her, she was later to become his wife.

Hudson Taylor founded the "China Inland Mission" and God gave his group of dedicated missionaries a great deal of success, although the road alone the way was rough.

One thing that Hudson Taylor learned while in China, was to trust God in everything.  He hit a low spot in his walk with the Lord, and started trying different things.  first he fasted and prayed for about 30 days.  When he had finished he felt just as far from the Lord as when he had begun.  So he decided that what was missing was a deep search of the Scriptures.  He studied the Bible for approximately 30 days, and when finished he still felt far from the Lord.  As despair started to set in he received a letter from a good friend, who had just experienced a similar thing in his walk with the Lord.  His friend told him about trying different things and then just simply trusting the Lord with the whole matter, he said I just saw that Jesus was my salvation and my walk, and everything else.  Hudson Taylor took this advise to heart, laid everything down before the Lord, and simply trusted Jesus!

A quote;

Christ is either Lord of all, or He is not Lord at all.

We are not only to renounce evil, but to manifest the truth.

We tell people the world is vain; let our lives manifest that it is so.

We tell them that our home is above and that all these things are transitory.

Does our dwelling look like it?

O to live consistent lives!
