Come
to the Light!
Jesus
said, "For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to
the light, lest his deeds be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light
that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they are done in God." John
3:20-21
While reading
this article you are probably still in bondage to your sins. Especially lust of
the flesh. Selfishness breeds lustful behavior. Greed, covetness, jealously and
strife are evidence of your bondage.
You profess
to know God & be saved by 'Grace' because you have accepted Jesus Christ as
your personal savior somewhere along the line. No doubt some preacher told you
that you're saved eternally no matter what you do, because it is by grace we
are saved through faith, not of works! Correct?
But how many people like you in
past generations and now, have lived & died, 'Believing' themselves to be
Christians because they go to church, lived a moral life, took communion or
received a sacrament? No doubt many are in hell today wondering why a loving
God would allow them to suffer in such manner.
Still you
refuse to come into the light as the Scripture so clearly points out. 'Lest
your deeds be exposed', the text says, Such is the Nature of God's Truth:
"To open
their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light. from the power of Satan to
God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those
who are sanctified by faith in Christ!" Acts 26: 18
Quite a
Transformation wouldn't you say? Those who Step into the Light, Obeying God's
Word are delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom
of the Son of His Love!" Col 1:13
No wonder the
churches are full of hypocrites. Who wants their deeds exposed! Yet it's a
CONDITION of true salvation according to these scriptures. Why then do the
preachers avoid discussing it? Is OBEDIENCE optional? NOT according to Christ.
"IF you love Me, Keep My Commandments!” He said, John 14:15
The problem is
if you're not walking in the Light as He is in the Light, 1 John 1:7, then the
Blood of Christ is NOT cleansing you from all sin. By this we know, John said, "He
who practices righteousness is righteous. He who sins is of the devil!"
l John 3:7-8
It is for This
VERY REASON that Christ came to save us, that He might destroy the works of the
devil and provide us with Victory over our sin. I John 5:4
Are you 'Born of God' as the scripture says? NOT if you're still sinning every day in thought, word and deed. In Christ the OLD things have passed away, the flesh has been crucified and the body made dead to lust. 2 Cor 5:17, Gal 5:24
Sin shall not have dominion over you! Rom 6:14
Carnal
Christianity is a lie to keep you comfortable & lukewarm in your church. The
preachers promote it so as not to lose their positions in the community or end
up with empty pews. It's up to you, who believe. The Bible says, "Live
according to the flesh and reap corruption, put to death the deeds of the body
by the Spirit, reap life everlasting." Rom 8: 13 (not difficult to
understand)
It requires
OBEDIENCE on your part! "Since you OBEYED from the heart that form of
doctrine to which you were delivered." Rom 6: 17 "You have been SET
FREE from sin, having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness
& the end everlasting life!" Rom 6:22
The True
Light of God is shining forth into the darkness of your heart; will you Come to
the light, Obey God, be exposed and transformed? Or be content with the shallow
profession that has left you in bondage to your sin? The world scoffs at modern
Christianity for good reason, People who make a profession of faith live like
the devil and expect non-believers to take them seriously!
They preach a gospel of
excuses for sin, claiming unconditional forgiveness under grace, freedom from
the law and permission to do anything they please. The world looks on in
amazement, skeptical, that the church has anything to offer. While the
professing Christians go through the motions of religion, millions perish in
their sins.
"They
profess to know God, but in works deny Him, being disobedient and disqualified for every
good work " Titus 1:6
The Bible teaches that
Christians 'OVERCOME' the world through faith. I Jh5:4 "This is the
victory that overcomes the world, our faith!"
Does this, therefore, mean
that Christians cannot overcome their selfish motives, evil intentions or
lustful thoughts? That's what the churches teach. But the Bible says otherwise!
WHO overcomes the World? Those Born of God! I John 5:4 Whatever is born of
God overcomes the world
Most professing Christians have been cheated from their birthright by a slick sounding message that promises them 'liberty' in Christ, while still in bondage to their sin! 2 Pet 2:18 The Gospel to them is a vast scheme of indulgences, Grace covers up their sin. Christ didn't come to release them from bondage, but to accommodate their weakness, after all, no one is perfect and He died to forgive our sins.
But the Truth of the Gospel
is “You are set free from sin!!" Rom 6:7. "You are crucified with
Christ, dead to sin, walking in newness of life!" (Gal 5:24, Rom
6:6-22) Otherwise the Gospel is a failure. If we are left in bondage to our
flesh, WHY did Christ die and rise again? Surely not for His own sin. He had none!
His death & resurrection
provided the 'moral' power mankind needed to be victorious over sin. "I
have been Crucified with Christ. it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives
in me!" Ga1 2:20
If you have been translated from
darkness to light, from the power of Satan to the power of God, YOU WILL
OVERCOME THE WORLD!
What motivates you is
evidence of who you serve. What stirs you deep within your soul?
The things of earth or the
things of heaven, the things of time or the things of eternity, the things of
self or the things of God?
Would you rather defend your
worldly carnal lifestyle or Study the Word of God? Would you rather befriend
the world or follow Christ?
I think the answer is more
than obvious. If you're in love with the world you know where you stand with
God. Repent now & OBEY HIM before it's too late!
